Supporting trans and gender-diverse employees requires more than just good intentions. To make inclusion meaningful and sustainable, organizations need clear policies, confident leaders, and informed teams.

Pride at Work Canada offers expert consulting to help your organization develop, strengthen, and implement trans-inclusive workplace practices. Whether reviewing existing policies or building a full transition support framework, our consulting provides practical guidance grounded in best practices and community-informed expertise.

Our services are designed to support organizations at different stages of the journey, from early reflection through full implementation.

Our Consulting Tiers

Where is your organization today?

Organizations come to this work at different stages. Our consulting tiers are designed to meet you where you are. If your organization is currently:

Tier 1: Expert Alignment – Reviewing existing policies and seeking expert input to ensure your approach to trans inclusion is current, affirming, and aligned with best practices

Expert guidance to strengthen your existing practices

You retain leadership over your internal processes while integrating specialized expertise needed to advance from standard practice to industry-leading inclusion.

Who is it for: Tier 1 is designed for organizations that want expert guidance on their established internal policy and process. This tier is ideal for organizations that already have policies and/or processes in place and want to ensure they are current, affirming, and effective.

The outcome: Your team will be equipped with expert feedback on your existing trans inclusion policies and processes. The result is a validated approach you can confidently stand behind, with clear and effective practices ready to carry forward.

Included in the package:

  1. Policy Review & Revision
    An annotated review of your existing trans inclusion policy, with strategic recommendations and revised language aligned to best practices and Canadian workplace standards.
    OR
  2. Dedicated Coaching with a PaWC Expert
    Two (2) hours of coaching with key internal contacts (HR leader, ERG leader, manager/supervisor, senior leader, and/or transitioning employee) to build confidence, capacity, and a clear action plan.
Tier 2: Commitment in Action – Developing or formalizing a transition support framework, and looking to establish clear policies, tools, and guidance for managers, HR, and employees

Building the infrastructure for effective transition support

You build the structures needed to support transitions thoughtfully, consistently, and across your organization.

Who is it for: Tier 2 is designed for organizations ready to move beyond intention to create organizational infrastructure for trans inclusion. This tier is ideal for organizations that are building their first formal transition support framework or formalizing existing practices into a cohesive strategy

The outcome: Your organization will possess a tailored transition support policy and the practical templates needed to meaningfully support trans and gender-diverse employees. With expert coaching or targeted training, your team will gain the confidence to support employees transitioning at work with precision and care.
Included in the package:

  1. Tailored Transition Support Policy
    A transition support policy developed in collaboration with your internal HR specialists, tailored to your organization and aligned with other organizational policies and procedures.
  2. Tailored Transition Support Plan Template
    A detailed template that helps key contacts guide the development of a transition support plan to support an employee transitioning at work, including key milestones and timelines that are tailored to the needs of the individual.
  3. Dedicated Coaching for Internal Leads*
    *Alternatively, Trans Inclusion Training for Key Contacts may be selected in place of coaching for an additional fee.
    Designated internal leads will receive one (1) hour of personalized, one-on-one guidance from an experienced practitioner, building the knowledge and skills needed to implement the trans inclusion policy and confidently support employees who are transitioning in your workplace.
Tier 3: Comprehensive Strategy – Ready to implement a comprehensive, organization-wide approach to supporting trans employees, including policies, guidance documents, and training across the organization

A comprehensive, organization-wide solution

You implement a comprehensive, organization-wide approach that aligns policy, practice, and organizational understanding.

Who is it for: Tier 3 is designed for organizations taking a robust approach to trans inclusion, encompassing strong policy, tailored guidance, and targeted training. This tier is ideal for any organization that is ready to establish a robust organizational infrastructure to support trans inclusion, whether that means launching a new initiative or upgrading existing policies and processes.

The outcome: Your organization will possess a set of policies that establish an organizational commitment and clear process for transitioning at work, tailored guidance for individuals navigating and supporting the transition process, and customized training to support smooth implementation and effectiveness. As a result, your team will be prepared to support employees through transition and to work effectively with trans and gender-diverse talent.

Included in the package:

    1. Robust Transition Support Policy Package, including:
      • Tailored Transition Support Policy
        A transition support policy developed in collaboration with your internal HR specialists, tailored to your organization and aligned with other organizational policies and procedures.
      • Tailored Transition Support Plan Template
        A detailed template that helps key contacts guide the development of a transition support plan to support an employee transitioning at work, including key milestones and timelines that are tailored to the needs of the individual.
      • Guidance Document for Managers & HR Specialists
        A guidance document targeted at people managers and HR/DEI specialists that walks them through the practical steps of supporting an employee transitioning at work, including a first meeting guide.
      • Guidance Document for the Transitioning Employee
        A guidance document targeted at individuals planning to transition at work that walks them through the process of informing the organization, what to expect in the process, and how to prepare for a first meeting.
      • Guidance Document for All Employees
        A guidance document targeted at all employees of the organization on how to support a colleague who is transitioning at work, including guidance on respectful communication, affirming actions, and making mistakes.
    2. Customized Supporting Transitioning Employee Training for Key contacts
      A customized training designed for key contacts, such as managers and HR specialists, who support employees transitioning in your workplace. The session will be tailored to your organization’s trans inclusion policies and processes, helping key contacts understand the policies and gain the confidence to provide effective, inclusive support to your employees.
