Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Administrative Assistant for one of our clients in Hamilton, ON. This role is ideal for an experienced administrative professional who demonstrates exceptional accuracy, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently on complex tasks while supporting smooth office operations.

You will provide high‑level secretarial and administrative support, handle confidential information with discretion, and coordinate effectively across departments while interacting professionally with client’s and customers.

  • Pay Rate: $26.00/hour

  • Location: Hamilton, ON

  • Shift: Mondays to Fridays | 8:30am to 4:30pm

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior‑level secretarial support, including high‑volume electronic transcription with exceptional accuracy and speed

  • Prepare written correspondence, reports, agendas, and other documentation with a high level of precision

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Business English and modern office practices and procedures

  • Work effectively in a computerized office environment using:

    • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams

    • eScribe and PeopleSoft

  • Liaise professionally with the public, external agencies, and internal departments

  • Exercise initiative and carry out instructions independently, with minimal supervision

  • Maintain routine financial records and support basic accounting activities when required

  • Monitor accounts, calculate amounts, and prepare/process invoices and accounts payable (asset)

  • Coordinate, assign, and review administrative work and resolve work‑related issues as they arise

  • Work independently on complex projects while coordinating activities across the organization to ensure effective communication and information flow

  • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate’s degree or post‑secondary coursework in Business Administration or a related field is preferred

  • Significant experience in a senior secretarial or administrative role

  • Previous experience in a financial or accounting office environment is preferred

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational, time‑management, and multitasking abilities

  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Familiarity with office systems, databases, and standard office equipment

  • Basic knowledge of general accounting principles (asset)

  • Ability to work independently and coordinate work across departments

  • Strong problem‑solving skills with sound judgment

  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information

  • Adaptable and willing to learn new systems and processes in a fast‑paced environment

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
