Employee Listening Session Services

Home / Consulting Services / Employee Listening Session Services

Moving from insight to understanding on employee experience

Employee listening sessions offer a structured approach to understanding your workforce with meaningful data that go beyond surface-level metrics. These sessions create space for 2SLGBTQIA+ employees to share their experiences, needs, and perspectives in their own words, providing rich qualitative data for organizations to identify gaps and guide actions to improve inclusion and employee experience.

Pride at Work Canada offers employee listening sessions to help your organization better understand your workforce, build trust, and remain responsive to employee needs. Our employee listening sessions are a vital diagnostic tool that enable leadership to move beyond assumptions to gain clear, firsthand perspective into employee experience.

Our services are designed to support organizations at different stages of the journey, from a single engagement to a series of engagements reaching multiple employee groups.

Our Consulting Tiers

Where is your organization today?

Organizations come to this work at different stages. Our consulting tiers are designed to meet you where you are. If your organization is currently:

Tier 1: Coaching for Internal Capacity – Planning to lead your own internal listening session and seeking expert consultation to ensure your session design is inclusive, effective, and promotes psychological safety.

Building internal capacity for a listening engagement

You maintain leadership over your internal listening session while integrating specialized expertise into your process.

Who is it for: Tier 1 is ideal for organizations that want to lead their own internal engagement with the support of external expertise. This tier is ideal for leaders who are looking to build their own facilitation skills and design employee listening engagements that are effective, inclusive, and promote psychological safety.

The outcome: Your internal leaders gain skills and confidence to conduct internal employee listening sessions, with guidance on any stage of the process, such as inclusive design and facilitation, protecting confidentiality and anonymity, or analyzing and identifying themes.

Included in the package:

  1. Dedicated Coaching with a PaWC Expert
Two (2) hours of coaching with an ERG leader, DEI leader, or other designated internal leader tailored to the needs of your engagement, such as: session design, objective and scope setting, facilitation approach, psychological safety, or strategic reflection on session results.
Tier 2: Targeted Listening Session – Seeking a targeted, one-time listening session as a deep dive into a specific issue or moment of change to gather candid insights and identify immediate risks and opportunities, led by a trusted third-party facilitator

Exploring an issue or moment of change with a trusted external facilitator

A targeted engagement capturing authentic employee experiences to inform strategy and action.

Who is it for: Tier 2 is designed for organizations looking to work with a trusted third-party to facilitate a one-time employee listening session focused on insight gathering at a specific moment in time. This tier is ideal for teams exploring a particular issue or question, or navigating a moment of change where an external facilitator can ensure employees feel safe to speak honestly while maintaining and strengthening organizational trust.

The outcome: Your organization will receive a snapshot of 2SLGBTQIA+ employee experience with rich qualitative data that adds depth to survey metrics and surfaces risks and opportunities to inform leadership decisions. Through this session, your employees have the opportunity to engage in a neutral space where their insights and experiences are captured in an inclusive and psychologically safe environment.

Included in the package:

  1. An Employee Listening Session*
Design and facilitation of an employee listening session with a target employee group. Pride at Work Canada will design a session based on your organizational needs, support participant recruitment and communications, and provide facilitation that is trauma-informed and that prioritizes psychological safety for participants.
*1:1 Employee Interview Sessions can be provided for an additional fee
Add a number of 1:1 employee interview sessions to provide an opportunity. Offering 1:1 options reduces barriers to participation and helps capture additional perspectives that may be missed in group sessions.
  2. Detailed Opportunities Report
A detailed report covering key themes and findings, emerging risks and opportunities, and practical recommendations to inform next steps and organization action planning.
  3. Post-Session Mental Health Support
Individual debrief sessions with an affirming 2SLGBTQIA+ counsellor for employees who participate in the listening session.
Tier 3: Strategic Listening Session Series – Taking a coordinated, multi-session approach to surface complex themes across the entire company and gather the rich data needed to inform longer-term policy, culture, and leadership strategy, led by a trusted third-party facilitator

Capturing a deeper understanding of 2SLGBTQIA+ employee experience in your organization

A coordinated engagement capturing experiences of employees in multiple areas of your business to guide longer-term strategy and organizational culture change.

Who is it for: Tier 3 is designed for organizations seeking a coordinated and multi-session engagement to surface complex themes across the organization and inform strategic decisions. This tier is ideal for organizations that want a deeper understanding of organizational dynamics and climate to inform policy, culture, and leadership decisions through a lens of authentic employee experience.

The outcome: Your organization will receive a comprehensive report of the experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ employees in your organization, connecting the dots between different divisions, regions, or employee groups and identifying overarching trends. Through these coordinated sessions, your organization will be equipped with a strategic blueprint to mitigate risk, leverage opportunities, and implement evidence-based improvements that reflect the true needs of your workforce.

Included in the package:

    1. Coordinated Employee Listening Sessions*
Design and facilitation of a multi-session engagement with coordinated employee listening sessions reaching key target employee groups across your organization. Pride at Work Canada will design a coordinated strategy for the sessions based on your organizational needs, support participant recruitment and communications, and provide facilitation that is trauma-informed and that prioritizes psychological safety for participants.
    2. Individual 1:1 Employee Interview Sessions*
Design and facilitation of individual employee interview sessions provides the opportunity for employees to engage in a way that feels safer and more comfortable than participating in a group session. Offering 1:1 options reduces barriers to participation and helps capture additional perspectives that may be missed in group sessions.
    3. Post-Session Mental Health Support
Individual debrief sessions with an affirming 2SLGBTQIA+ counsellor for employees who participate in the listening session.
    4. Comprehensive Opportunity Report
A detailed report of cross-section themes and findings, organizational risks and leverage points, and practical recommendations to inform organizational decision-making. This report synthesizes data from across multiple sessions, drawing findings and identifying risks and opportunities at the organizational level and down to the individual divisions, regions, and groups captured by the sessions.
