Adecco is currently hiring a Financial Controller for a strategic leadership role within a growing organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who thrives in operational environments and wants to play a key role in driving financial performance, process improvements, and business decision-making.

  • Salary: 120-130k/year

  • Location: Mississauga, ON

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday (business hours)

  • Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly and quarterly financial close, including P&L, balance sheet, WIP, and cash flow reporting

  • Oversee project cost accounting activities such as budgeting, progress billings, holdbacks, and change orders

  • Drive accuracy in Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasting and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reviews

  • Partner with operations to improve forecasting, margin tracking, and overall decision-making

  • Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll, and cash flow with strong internal controls

  • Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts, aligning financial planning with project backlog and pipeline

  • Own and optimize the ERP system (Jonas Premier), including automation, reporting, and dashboard creation

  • Develop financial insights and reporting tools to support leadership decision-making

  • Coach and mentor the finance team, fostering growth, accountability, and collaboration

  • Represent Finance within the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), supporting performance tracking and execution

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • CPA designation (CA, CGA, or CMA preferred)

  • 7–10+ years of experience in construction, general contracting, or project-based environments

  • Strong expertise in job costing, WIP, and revenue recognition

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including Power Query and Pivot Tables)

  • Experience with ERP systems; Jonas Premier is considered a strong asset

  • Deep understanding of ASPE/GAAP, progress billing, subcontractor compliance, and bonding/insurance requirements

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills

  • Hands-on approach with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations teams

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and drive results in a fast-paced environment
