COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY
Payments Canada is committed to promoting diversity, inclusion and wellness initiatives across the organization in close collaboration with our people team and internal communications. The Diversity, Inclusion and Wellness Committee (DIWC) was formed in 2020, is entirely composed of employee volunteers and championed by our CEO. The committee provides input and support for the delivery of diversity, equity, wellness and inclusion initiatives across Payments Canada. This includes advising and providing insights on policies, procedures and activities in support of the organization’s diversity, equity and inclusion objectives. Since its inception, the committee has worked together on the consultation, development and introduction of a land acknowledgment for meetings, events and gatherings, contributed to the development of our Accessibility Plan and led the creation of a dedicated prayer room in our Ottawa office, among other valuable contributions to our organization. Our diversity, equity and inclusion strategy is focused on accountability and sustainability; workforce diversity; workplace inclusion; and community and social responsibility.
VISION FOR THE FUTURE
Learning, acknowledging and celebrating our differences is key to an inclusive and diverse culture through days of recognition and other events and activities to bring employees together to participate and connect. These activities — from guest speakers and focused training to online celebrations and discussions — have helped grow our understanding of diversity issues and the importance of building an inclusive and welcoming culture. We continue to work together to build on a foundation of respect and appreciation for diversity in all forms and collectively create an inclusive and equitable culture where our differences are valued. We are committed to making everyone feel they can be themselves and thrive at work.
