Our Services
National Conferences: FCP hosts an annual conference in conjunction with its AGM, a gathering of Canada’s most active Pride organisations, as well as community organisations, government agencies, grassroots groups, and changemakers. We also have a licenced event, Canada Pride, held every 2-3 years in conjunction with a member organisation’s annual Pride Week, with a Human Rights Conference as its centrepiece.Resources, Workshops, Networking Opportunities: In addition to the conference, FCP hosts a number of virtual skill-building workshops and networking opportunities throughout the year. Members have access to a growing library of documents including templates, handbooks and informational resources, as well as recordings of webinars and workshops.
Community Safety and Support Fund: FCP advocated for funding for Pride Organizations to address growing safety concerns during the 2023 Pride Season, as we navigate an environment with rising anti-2SLGBTQI+ hate. This advocacy resulted in Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) allocating a $1.5 million grant to provide funding to Pride organisations to organise safe Pride events across Canada.
Member Resources and Coaching: FCP in collaboration with Egale Canada produced and published Pride Safety Toolkits for event organisers and attendees. Throughout the 2023 Pride season, FCP offered a new series of free drop-in ‘Communications and Media Advisory Office Hours’ coaching sessions for Pride Organizations that would benefit from strategic communications and media support.
Rural & Remote Pride Collective: The Rural & Remote Pride Collective is a community group of pride organisers based in rural and remote areas throughout so-called Canada. FCP will facilitate meetings and workshops, and develop resources that will foster cross-sector collaboration between rural and remote pride organisations. This is part of our “Strengthening Relationships & Connections Between Rural Prides” project, funded by WAGE, which includes 2023-2024 FCP Micro-Grants.
Stories of Two-Spirit Indigenous Indian Residential and Day School Survivors: Through this project, eight 2Spirit Indian Residential School Survivors (Story Tellers) participated in a speaker series project preserving and sharing their stories through a series of storytelling workshops.
