BC Centre for Women in the Trades – BCCWITT
The BC Centre for Women in the Trades provides connection, funding, resources and supports for tradeswomen across the province. We offer programs, tools and resources to individuals and organizations that support the attraction, retention and advancement of women in skilled trades careers. We are also part of broader equity and inclusion initiatives supporting other underrepresented groups in construction, maintenance, and industrial trades.
Our programs include:
- Trades Training & Employment: Providing supports, training, funding, and employment matching in the skilled trades industry for eligible women
- Regional Representative Program Leadership Training: Helping tradespeople from underrepresented groups (women, 2SLGBTQIA+, IBPOC, persons with disabilities, immigrants) who want to be changemakers in the skilled trades sector in British Columbia
- Be More Than a Bystander: Training male allies in the skilled trades on skills to prevent bullying, harassment and violence in the workplace
Vision
The BC Centre for Women in the Trades (BCCWITT) envisions a diverse, equitable and inclusive skilled trades industry, where all feel welcome, healthy, respected and safe.
