Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Track Maintenance Foreperson to support our client’s railway operations. The Track Maintenance Foreperson is responsible for leading track maintenance crews and ensuring that all track components and fixtures function safely and effectively. This role involves hands-on participation in inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and replacing rails, ties, switches, and ballast, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.

Responsibilities:
Inspect and maintain track structures and right-of-way in accordance with required specifications
Supervise, coach, and develop track maintenance crews to ensure quality workmanship and safe work practices
Inspect completed track work and authorize track for service
Maintain and apply train operating restrictions in accordance with track standards
Implement safety directives and promote a strong safety culture
Assist in the development and execution of safety programs and performance goals
Remove and replace defective ties, rails, spikes, and anchors
Correct deviations in track surface, alignment, and gauge
Install, inspect, and repair street and railroad crossings
Assist in replacing and repairing power-operated switches, insulated joints, and related components
Support ballast unloading operations and distribute track materials
Sort and prepare used track materials for loading, including manual handling when required
Clear brush, vegetation, snow, and debris from the railroad right-of-way
Establish, maintain, and restore proper drainage systems
Perform site cleanup upon completion of work
Comply with all track safety standards, operating rules, and safe work procedures
Complete required work reports, material inventory records, and inspection documentation
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous foreperson or supervisory experience
Experience working in similar physical and outdoor environments
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Valid driver’s license
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong leadership and teamwork skills
Effective communication and information-sharing ability
Ability to set direction, motivate others, and lead by example
Demonstrated commitment to safety, security, and ESG principles
Must be available to work shifts, travel away from home on various work cycles, and work occasional overtime
Outdoor work in all weather and environmental conditions
Physically demanding role involving repetitive movements
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs (22 kg) and occasionally up to 70 lbs (32 kg)
Requires good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
