Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As the Team Manager, Wealth Advice Team, you will lead a team of Wealth Planners who provide financial planning and investment advice to members through a virtual and phone-based service model. You will create an environment where employees thrive, members receive exceptional advice, and business objectives are achieved through meaningful relationships and holistic financial planning.

You will provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership to support your team in delivering personalized financial advice that helps members achieve their goals while strengthening long-term relationships with Vancity. This role requires a leader who can successfully manage a geographically dispersed team, foster engagement in a virtual environment, and champion a culture of advice excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role and will report directly to the Regional Manager, Wealth Solutions. The role will work closely with other leaders, Wealth Advisors, Wealth Management Associates, and other internal partners to ensure a seamless member experience and a strong referral ecosystem.

While this position supports a virtual and phone-based advice model, you will be expected to be available on-site two days per week or as required by business demands at our Vancity Head Office.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing team of Wealth Planners who provide advice through a virtual and phone-based service model
  • Building team culture, connection, engagement, and accountability across a virtual or hybrid work environment
  • Conducting regular coaching, development, and performance conversations to support employee success and career growth
  • Championing an advice-first culture focused on holistic conversations, comprehensive financial planning, and member financial well-being
  • Coaching Wealth Planners on planning quality, discovery conversations, relationship-building, and appropriate solution recommendations
  • Supporting advisors in navigating member conversations involving retirement planning, investments, cash flow planning, risk management, and wealth accumulation strategies
  • Promoting consistent application of the Vancity Advice Plan and financial planning process across the team
  • Monitoring planning quality, member outcomes, productivity, service levels, referrals, and business results to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Using data and insights to support decision-making, improve member outcomes, and achieve business objectives
  • Partnering with branch leaders, Wealth Advisors, and other stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways and create a seamless advice journey for members
  • Creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and best-practice exchange across the team
  • Championing change initiatives, process improvements, new business strategies, and operational excellence
  • Ensuring adherence to regulatory, compliance, risk management, and operational requirements while maintaining a strong member-first focus

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, financial planning, or a related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience within wealth management, financial planning, investment advisory, or a related financial services environment
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience coaching, developing, or managing advice-based professionals
  • Proven experience leading high-performing teams in a virtual, hybrid, contact centre, or geographically dispersed environment
  • Deep understanding of comprehensive financial planning principles and wealth management practices
  • Strong knowledge of investment products, retirement planning, risk management, cash flow planning, estate planning fundamentals, and tax-efficient wealth strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to coach advisors through complex financial planning conversations and member scenarios
  • Strong understanding of advice-based sales practices focused on member outcomes, relationship-building, and long-term financial well-being
  • Proven ability to build engagement, trust, team culture, and accountability without day-to-day in-person interaction
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills
  • Ability to leverage data, performance insights, and coaching observations to improve planning quality, member experience, and business outcomes
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and risk management requirements within financial services and wealth management
  • Mutual Fund License (IFIC or CSI) is required
  • CFP, PFP, CIM, FCSI, CLU, or equivalent advanced financial planning or wealth management designation is preferred
  • Securities licensing is considered an asset

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:
