As a Team Lead, Commercial Banking, you play a key leadership role in driving business growth, developing talent, and strengthening National Bank’s presence in the Moncton market. You lead a team of Commercial Account Managers and support staff while remaining actively involved in client relationships and business development.

Your Team

You will lead a team of Commercial Account Managers and support roles serving small to mid-sized businesses in the Moncton and surrounding region. Your team is responsible for managing client relationships, originating new business, and delivering full-service commercial banking solutions.

As Team Lead, you play a central role in mobilizing the team, supporting day-to-day priorities, and ensuring alignment with National Bank’s commercial strategy. You work closely with internal partners (credit, financing solutions, cash management, and risk) to support your team’s success and deliver a seamless client experience.

Your Role

Leadership and development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Commercial Account Managers and support roles.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and client-centric culture.
  • Support employee development through coaching, feedback, and succession planning.
  • Participate actively in client meetings alongside team members to support deal execution and skill development.
Business Development & Market Leadership
  • Drive growth through proactive business development and strong market presence.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key Centers of Influence (COIs) and community partners.
  • Support the acquisition of new full-service commercial clients while deepening existing relationships.
  • Represent National Bank at local business and industry events.
Portfolio Oversight & Sales Management
  • Oversee the team’s sales pipeline, forecasting, and performance against objectives.
  • Ensure disciplined use of sales tools, CRM, and pipeline management practices.
  • Support the structuring of profitable lending solutions aligned with National Bank’s risk appetite and preferred industries.
  • Maintain a limited or shadow portfolio to stay close to client realities and deal dynamics.
Risk, Credit & Governance
  • Ensure credit quality, pricing discipline, and adherence to National Bank’s risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Support team members in complex credit situations and approvals.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of local market conditions and industry trends.
Your Profile
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Commercial Banking or related financial services.
  • Proven experience leading or coaching teams in a sales-driven environment.
  • Strong commercial credit knowledge and sound risk judgment.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and relationship management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and influence skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the Moncton and Atlantic market is an asset.
  • University degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
