What is the opportunity?
The RBC Borealis group is responsible for enabling RBC to become a data and AI driven organization. As part of this mission, the Data Solution team in RBC Borealis works with various lines of business to create and build data-driven solutions to serve our clients better. Data Solutions team is dedicated to delivering comprehensive data solutions that drive business success. Specializing in building robust data services/API’s and conducting in-depth data analysis, Data Solutions uncovers critical insights that inform strategic decisions, generates significant business value and identifies new opportunities for growth, and integrates with AI Solutions to ensure that business can leverage their data assets to achieve competitive advantages
What will you do?
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data services to collect, process, and transform data from various sources into usable format. Integrate diverse data sources and formats, including structured and unstructured data, APIs, and streaming data.
- Build data services to serve data to RBC Client and internal groups, and integrate with operational systems and AI solutions to enable data/AI driven process
- Build data services with very high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Implement data security measures and best practices to ensure data privacy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
What do you need to succeed? Must-have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent or; or diploma in related technical discipline
- 3+ years’ experience in developing scalable applications using Java/Scala/Python; leveraging big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, ELK, etc) to build data products and services
- 3+ years’ experience in building scalable, high performance, high availability applications
- 3+ years’ experience of building data services in public cloud environments (Azure & AWS)
- A passion for simplifying and automating work, making things better, continuous learning, solving open-ended problems, improving efficiency, and helping others
- Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve issues
Nice-to-have
- Experience deploying to and running applications on Kubernetes/Openshift
- Experience of NoSQL stores (Elasticsearch, Redis, MongoDB, etc…)
- Experience building or executing Machine Learning pipelines
- Experience building operational APIs
