The Sr Specialist, Large Complex & Specialty Claims is responsible for overseeing high‑value personal and commercial property claims from start to finish, including complex specialty losses and those with multinational exposure. This role works closely with underwriting, reinsurance, actuary, and senior leadership to ensure effective claim strategies and outcomes. It also supports the evolution of claims capabilities to enable growth in new markets and specialty lines, while contributing to team development through ongoing mentoring and technical guidance.

What can you expect in this role?

  • Manage a pending of high value personal and commercial lines property claims from start to finish, including losses in specialty lines, claims with complex coverage concerns, and claims with multinational exposure.
  • Engage all stakeholders in the effective management of a claim including underwriting, reinsurance, actuary, and senior leadership
  • Support the transformation of claims capabilities to enable policy growth in new markets and specialty lines of business
  • Contribute to ongoing mentoring and technical growth within Claims

What do you bring to the role?

  • University degree in any discipline or a 2-year college diploma from a provincially recognized and funded community college or fully completed CIP designation
  • A minimum of 8 - 10 years general claims handling experience
  • A minimum of 4 years claims experience handling large property claims
  • Experience coaching and mentoring junior staff
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Preference will be given to candidates with related business experience, particularly in complex commercial and field adjusting

Salary range is $73,500 - $123,500
