Summary

The Facility infrastructure team plans, designs, builds infrastructure to support  Bell’s multi-billion dollar broadcast, fiber, LTE,IT,Datacenter  and security networks. Successful candidates joining the Facility infrastructure will be given the opportunity to get hands on experience using next generation technology and receive ongoing technical and leadership development training

 

As part of Facility infrastructure, you will plan, design, and manage capacity of Bell building infrastructure. You will support growth and strategic deployment of Bell’s Core, Access and Switch networks as well as Customer Premise network element.

Key Responsibilities

  • Time and size installation of power elements such as generator, UPS, rectifiers, batteries, inverters, power plants to support growth and strategic deployment
  • Manage life cycle of power elements mentioned above
  • Provide support and critical information required to design AC power network, UPS and HVAC infrastructure in COs (central office)
  • Financial management of projects to ensure cost effective and just in time provisioning, on time and on budget delivery
  • Prepare business case to secure funding based on network investment directives, risk management, installation and reliability standards and applicable codes and sound business rationales
  • Participate/lead continuous process improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce cost
  • Work closely with various internal and external partners (such as Bell Field Services and Operations, Suppliers and Contractors)
  • Maintain and upgrade technical expertise to meet the fast changing industry requirement
  • Perform Technical site visits periodically to different central offices in Atlantic Region.

Critical Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent related degree.
  • Knowledge of Telecom OSS and protocols
  • Knowledge of Agile framework
  • Solid working knowledge of power, building, supporting infrastructure provisioning
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (especially in Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Working Knowledge of and ability to interpret various applicable building, electrical, fire… codes
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Budget management, PEATS system and financial tools
  • Management and financial tools like SAP
  • Understanding of the telecommunication equipment environment from a power perspective
  • Working knowledge of Telcordia installation standards related to Telecom power, buildings and associated equipment
  • Knowledge related to Maintenance of DC Power
  • Basic knowledge of Auto Cad
