Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced SMT Machine Operator to support high-quality electronic assembly production. This role is responsible for operating Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines, performing machine setups, and ensuring efficient and compliant production processes.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of SMT operations, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00/hour (based on experience)

  • Location: Markham, ON

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Operate SMT production lines and perform machine and feeder setup

  • Complete first-off inspections and validate assemblies prior to full production runs

  • Verify board assembly against Bills of Materials (BOM) and View Station requirements

  • Ensure components are installed correctly, including polarity and values

  • Confirm workmanship meets IPC-A-610 standards

  • Identify and escalate issues during inspections and ensure corrective actions are taken prior to production

  • Perform daily preventive maintenance on SMT equipment

  • Monitor production and ensure high-quality output; stop lines and escalate issues when required

  • Accurately scan boards through Tecnomatix systems and follow tracking procedures

  • Maintain strict adherence to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling and storage guidelines

  • Report production or quality issues to Quality Control and SMT Supervisor

  • Maintain housekeeping and organization within the work area

  • Support other production activities and perform additional duties as required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (mandatory)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in SMT line operation

  • Strong understanding of SMT and through-hole electronic components

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions

  • Knowledge of component values and polarity identification

  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 quality standards

  • Knowledge of quality systems and ESD control procedures

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

  • Certificate or Diploma in Electronics or enrollment in a technical program

  • Experience with SMT software systems such as Tecnomatix or similar platforms

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing environments

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to SMT production equipment

  • Fast-paced setting with strict quality and production timelines

  • Physical demands may include lifting materials or components

  • Requires standing for extended periods and manual dexterity

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
