For Sessional Faculty

 

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for the following teaching position to be offered in the Summer 2026 Term

 

Course Name/Number: Stats 2MB3 - Statistical Methods and Applications

 

Term: Summer Term, June 29  - August 14, 2026

 

Number of Section(s) Available: 1 section                                 

 

Number of Units per Section: 3 units

 

Location: Central campus

 

Projected Enrollment: 75

 

Projected TA Support: TBD

 

Class Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30pm - 5:20pm 

 

Examination Period: To be arranged by instructors during class time

 

Wage Rate*: As per schedule “A” of the CUPE, Local 3906, Unit 2 Collective Agreement, the Sessional Faculty rate is $8,922.68 for 3 units.

 

Course Description: Inquiry into the ideas and methods of advanced mathematics. Material will include topics selected from algebra, calculus, discrete math, geometry and number theory.

 

Required Qualifications: MSc and/or PhD in Mathematics or related field and classroom experience with the curriculum. Selection will be based on seniority, academic qualifications, communication skills, teaching competence, ability to perform the various duties of the Appointment, and previous academic employment experience (these criteria are not listed in order of priority).

 

*Supplemented Fees- 15.02(a) The employee may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule C of the Collective Agreement.  The actual rate of pay when in excess of the base rate of pay is deemed to include any supplemented fees owing, to the extent of the excess amount.  If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
