The Master of Public Policy Program invites applications for the following teaching position in the 2026-27 session:

PUBPOL 765: Housing Development and Finance

This course provides an overview of the regulatory and financial mechanisms that support the development of new housing in Canada. This includes an examination of the approval processes employed at the regional/municipal level, interactions with municipal plans, interplay with other level of government, and the financial instruments used to fund new housing projects. This course will provide students with a fundamental understanding of the complex processes by which new housing is funded and approved. As a skills lab course, the emphasis is on teaching and learning practical, hands-on expertise. 

Applicants should have a mix of academic knowledge, practical experience, and applied expertise in urban planning and its professional application.   We welcome applicants with demonstrated roles in an industry position that has required extensive work in housing development, and/or as subject matter expertise through relevant research and through leadership. Previous teaching and training experience is a plus but not required. The Faculty of Social Sciences and MPP have significant strengths in the areas of research, teaching and mentorship and the successful candidate will reflect a similar level of excellence in these areas. 

The incumbent will be appointed at the appropriate rank with the MPP, located on the main university campus to begin January 2027.
