Wage Rate: $9,435.73 (As per schedule “A” of the CUPE, Local 3906, Unit 2 Collective Agreement) 

 

 

 

Start Time and Duration: Classes January 4 2027- April 7 2027 on Mondays 11:30AM- 2:20PM. Exam Period: April 9 2027- April 22 2027

Course Description/Relevant Employment Duties

 

Building on concepts of traditional medicines, their histories and their connection to Indigenous philosophies of wellness studied in INDIGST 2HW3, this course focuses on procedures for procurement and practical application of medicines. Emphasis will be placed on cultural protocols and the reasons for efficacy.

 

 

 

Required Qualifications: 

 

 Experience with and knowledge of Indigenous communities and ways of knowing, with expertise in Indigenous medicines and concepts and the ability to lead class in practical hands-on activities. The candidate will preferably have a Master’s degree or equivalent and demonstrate knowledge of and sensitivity to the values of Indigenous people’s cultural traditions and spirituality. Preference given to practitioners of Indigenous Medicine.

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

Experience teaching at university level.

 

 

 

*Supplemented Fees- 15.02(a) The employee may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule C of the Collective Agreement.  The actual rate of pay when in excess of the base rate of pay is deemed to include any supplemented fees owing, to the extent of the excess amount.  If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
