Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Creative Team is hiring a Freelance Senior Visual Designer to support our creative services for 18 months. This person will be asked to work across our portfolio of brands by designing and refining brand identities, developing internal and external marketing assets, and generating creative solutions. This role blends hands-on design expertise with strategic thinking and team leadership. You’ll partner closely with copy, art directors, studio designers, research, and marketing teams to drive compelling brand-building creative across channels on multiple brands. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, has strong time management skills and people management experience.

What will you do?

  • Conceptualize, create and refine visual identities, including logos, colour palettes, typography, illustrations and iconography, etc. 

  • Develop brand guidelines, brand assets, and resources for internal and external use 

  • Conceptualize and create internal & external marketing campaigns, websites, emails, paid ads, social posts, and more

  • Produce marketing assets, including digital publications, infographics, data visualization, presentation decks, event assets, and other marketing materials

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Product Design, Marketing, and Research Teams 

  • Collaborate with art directors, designers, production artists, and writers to execute campaigns and digital solutions

  • Effectively rationalize, communicate, and present ideas and designs to key stakeholders and senior business leaders

  • Balance hands-on design work with leadership responsibilities 

What will you need to succeed? 

  • 6+ years of experience working in design, digital, or advertising agencies 

  • A portfolio that demonstrates your design skills, conceptual thinking, and experience in print and digital

  • Strong aesthetic skills and a demonstration of graphic design core principles with respect to typography, layout/composition, grid systems, colour, photography, iconography, etc.

  • Well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Powerpoint, and similar tools

  • Ability to ideate and collaborate alongside a copywriter, visual designers, art directors, creative directors, marketers, and others

  • Ability to embrace feedback and continue to iterate and improve your work

  • Ability to communicate and present ideas and rationales

  • Experience as a People Manager and/or overseeing the work of other creatives

  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast paced environment


Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in motion design

  • Experience working with performance and digital marketers

  • Experience working in start-up environments
