Job Title: Senior Tax Analyst
Location: Grimsby Ontario
Shift: 1st shift – Flexible start time between 7 am and 9 am


Hybrid Remote and Onsite – Will work in the office more often after starting and during training but once up to speed, will only be required to work in the office one day a week on average.

As a Senior Tax Analyst for John Deere located in Grimsby, Ontario, you will be a key member of the Canadian Tax Team. This compliance role will be primarily responsible for the timely preparation and analysis of tax filings, tax accounting entries and supporting tax audits for the Canadian subsidiaries of Deere and Company.

Your Responsibilities
• Coordinate the transfer pricing reporting process, reviewing submissions to ensure complete and accurate reporting, preparing the Canadian tax schedules and transfer pricing reports, and coordinating execution of intercompany agreements.
• Prepare corporate income tax returns, working with the various accounting departments to ensure accurate submissions of the requisite supporting documents with a clear audit trail.
• Review and/or prepare the tax provision entries and forecasts for current and deferred taxes.
• Support various commodity tax reports and remittances.
• Contribute to the audit process, overseeing the sourcing of requested documentation from various departments, and preparing detailed responses to tax authorities.
• Conduct research and document tax issues.
• Participate in project work to support system changes, business needs and process improvements with a focus on automation while providing guidance on the tax impacts of business decisions
• Support team members with less experience

What skills you need
• Must have at least one year of dedicated Canadian corporate and/or commodity tax experience
• Over 8 years of accounting or finance experience including work in large corporations
• Possess the financial acumen to assimilate information, identify issues, and develop and implement solutions.
• Strong computer skills including Excel
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including business writing and presentation skills.
• Professional accounting designation required
• Experience with SAP and data automation tools would be an asset
