Position: Senior Regional HR Advisor, APAC

Employment Type: Permanent

Compensation Details:

  • HR Generalist 18-S: Salaries typically range from $115,515 (SGP$9,626 per month) - $154,020 (SGP$12, 835 per month) annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location: 

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of  two in-office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change). 

  • Please be advised that this position is based at our Singapore branch office located at the Marina Bay Financial Centre, Singapore.

  • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior HR professional to lead EDC’s people practice in Singapore and across the APAC region. As the sole HR presence in the region, you will serve as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders—providing sound, confidential guidance on employee relations and complex people matters—while delivering strategic insights and practical, innovative solutions that help shape EDC’s future workforce and promote inclusion, growth, and excellence. Reporting into Head Office, this role operates with a high degree of independence while remaining aligned with EDC’s People and Culture Strategy and HR Centres of Expertise.

What you will be doing:

  • Partner with leaders and employees on people matters, delivering day-to-day HR support and strategic solutions aligned to business priorities.

  • Provide advice and coaching to leaders to build high-performing teams, including guidance on complex performance and employee relations issues including conflict resolution support.

  • Strengthen EDC’s employer brand in the Singapore market and lead full-cycle recruitment for Singapore roles and broader APAC regional hiring, ensuring a positive end-to-end candidate and new-hire onboarding experience.

  • Lead talent initiatives and drive performance management processes to build future capabilities while supporting employee development and accountability.

  • Champion diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion initiatives to foster a culture of belonging and respect.

  • Use data and insights to identify trends, recommend actionable solutions, and drive continuous improvement in HR processes and client service delivery.

  • Serve as EDC’s subject‑matter expert in Singapore employment legislation and HR best practices, proactively identifying risk, advising leaders on application of internal policies and legislative requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent

  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive HR advisory experience, including talent acquisition and employee relations expertise

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound independent judgment, balancing autonomy with alignment to corporate priorities and practices

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and build trust with employees at all levels

  • Courage to challenge the status quo and inspire new ideas

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Singapore Employment market, labor laws and employee relations practices.

  • Willing to work early morning and evening hours as required to connect with stakeholders and team members in North American time zones.

  • IHRP-SP Certification or equivalent senior professional HR accreditation preferred

  • Experience operating as the sole regional HR professional in a global corporate environment, ideally within financial services is an asset

  • Fluent in English (written and oral) and other related languages are an asset

Eligibility
