Your Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Process Mechanical Engineer to join the team in our Burnaby, BC office. The successful candidate must be available to work on-site.  

Your Key Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate design among various technical disciplines for a major water or wastewater project.
  • Provide technical and coordination support during construction. 
  • Lead and/or participate in meetings with client Operations & Maintenance staff to identify and implement design optimization initiatives.
  • Understand and interpret client expectations, standards and specifications.
  • Coordinate work within a multidiscipline, and multi office, team environment requiring exceptional communication and organizational skills. 
  • Perform work in accordance with Stantec and client quality programs, and applicable codes and standards of the jurisdiction. 
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, and approval of engineering design deliverables, if applicable.
  • Lead and participate in periodic project status meetings with the client, design consultants, and construction contractors.
  • Participate in typical design meetings including: scope, engineering, design, specifications, PFD/P&ID drawings, line list, tie-in list, equipment lists, controls, and HAZOP
  • Liaise with the construction contractor, design consultants, and client’s technical staff
  • Review deliverables from a variety of consultants and communicate findings to the client.
  • Perform quality assurance function for work deliverables before they are submitted to Client. 
  • Monitor client satisfaction for work completed. 
  • May provide support to Commissioning, Start Up and turnover activities

Your Capabilities and Credentials  

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management and contract administration
  • Experience in large, complex, multi-disciplinary construction including major equipment installation
  • Experience providing design services on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required as is an ability to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects
  • Strong written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Requirement to work at a site office 4-5 days per week.

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Process Mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer, or ability to become registered as a P.Eng with EGBC

Pay Range:

• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC-$111,700.00 - $167,600.00 Annually
