Job Description

The Opportunity

In this role, you'll drive the strategic transformation and oversight of our Indirect Lending portfolio across Personal Retail Auto, Business Vehicle Solutions (BVS), Recreational Vehicles (RV), Marine products, and Newcomer segments. You'll develop and execute product strategies that expand market share, enhance subvented and non-subvented portfolio profitability, and proactively mitigate business risks.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership & Product Management

  • Serve as subject matter expert on automotive finance products, credit portfolio dynamics, and policy frameworks

  • Own product shelf reviews, policy assessments, and regulatory impact analyses (RTAs) for key initiatives

  • Build consensus and secure stakeholder sign-off on strategic recommendations

  • Develop data-driven business cases and compelling presentations to influence policy, process, and strategy decisions

Risk & Portfolio Management

  • Lead risk identification, management, and remediation efforts for fraud, regulatory issues, and audit findings

  • Proactively monitor portfolio and credit trends against KPIs and OKRs

  • Review and approve policy exceptions, escalating complex cases to resolution

  • Support Business Risk Management (BRM) and Control teams in assessing the risk and control environment

Business Intelligence & Performance

  • Analyze economic and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities and emerging risks

  • Prepare forecasts to support operational capacity planning and track progress toward business goals

  • Monitor business performance and recommend actions to maximize results while minimizing risk

  • Maintain initiative tracking and provide regular status updates to senior leadership

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with colleagues across RBC to define, scope, and address retail automotive finance risks and opportunities

  • Act as business representative for regulatory change initiatives

  • Develop monitoring frameworks to ensure implemented initiatives deliver intended outcomes

What You Need to Succeed

Must-Have

  • 5+ years of credit management or related risk management experience

  • Strong collaboration and change leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams

  • Proven analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities

  • Solid understanding of credit and product economics

  • Proficiency with financial models and business case development

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to senior executives

  • University degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Consulting and customer service orientation; demonstrated ability to act as a trusted business partner

Nice-to-Have

  • In-depth knowledge of automotive finance industry, market trends, and competitive landscape

  • CPA or relevant professional designation

  • Experience with regulatory compliance and risk frameworks in financial services
