Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join the leadership team of one of our food manufacturing clients in Calgary, AB. This role is critical to ensuring food safety, regulatory compliance, animal welfare, and continuous improvement within a federally licensed facility.

In this role you will provide strategic direction, regulatory leadership, and people development to drive sustainable improvements in quality, safety, and operational performance.

  • Location: Calgary, AB

  • Shift: 8-hour shift | Monday to Friday

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key member of the plant leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and execution to support overall facility performance

  • Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Quality Assurance and food safety programs for federally licensed establishments

  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, inspection requirements, and regulatory expectations through active engagement with federal authorities at both local and regional levels

  • Plan, lead, and execute Quality Assurance projects focused on regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and process performance

  • Provide expert regulatory guidance affecting production, processing, and animal care, driving measurable and sustainable outcomes

  • Challenge and support Quality Assurance and Operations teams to achieve year‑over‑year improvements in food safety, quality, and animal welfare

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead solution development using strong technical expertise and leadership

  • Maintain direct communication with regulatory inspectors regarding significant findings, concerns, and corrective actions

  • Collaborate closely with corporate Quality Assurance leadership on industry‑wide issues, regulatory changes, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Develop, coach, and mentor the local Quality Assurance management team, strengthening technical capability, leadership skills, and succession planning

  • Drive team performance and engagement through strong organization, motivation, and talent development

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior Quality Assurance and Operations leadership

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in food safety and Quality Assurance, preferably within live operations and/or poultry processing

  • HACCP certification required, with strong working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)

  • Current knowledge of Safe Food for Canadians Regulations

  • Working knowledge of GFSI standards; familiarity with BRC and USDA standards considered an asset

  • Demonstrated experience with poultry animal welfare requirements; MPIP and/or PAACO certification preferred

  • Project management training or demonstrated experience preferred

  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to prepare regulatory documentation and reports

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple teams, priorities, and deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership, regulatory agencies, customers, and suppliers

  • Proven leadership capability with a collaborative, team‑focused management style

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
