City : Vancouver

Industry : Financial/Banking

Employer : Vancity

Our Story & Purpose:

We’re Vancity, a member-owned credit union built on the principles of inclusion and social justice. Since 1946, our relentless commitment to these values has helped us challenge the status quo and break down barriers. We’ve made bold commitments to become net-zero by 2040 across all mortgages and loans, and we’re actively pursuing strategies in Indigenous banking and financial resilience for our members.

As the largest private sector Living Wage Employer in Canada, we’re proud to be consistently recognized as one of the country’s Top Employers. If you’re ready to join our team of 2,300 diverse individuals, access competitive rewards and benefits, and be part of a greater movement - apply today!

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As the Senior Manager, Culture, you will provide enterprise-level expertise and leadership to strengthen how Vancity’s culture and values are lived across the organization. You will act as a senior culture advisor and integrator – guiding enterprise culture, engagement, employee experience and recognition practices through insight, governance and influence rather than line authority.

While this role does not initially have direct reports or final vendor selection authority, it carries senior accountability through ownership of enterprise standards, frameworks, metrics and executive advisory responsibilities. You will work in deep partnership with peer leaders in Talent Development and Learning to ensure culture levers reinforce leadership capability, performance expectations and talent outcomes.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Director, Talent Development & Culture. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Providing enterprise-wide culture and employee experience expertise, shaping priorities, standards, and interventions across People & Culture and the broader organization
  • Translating Vancity’s enterprise culture strategy into annual engagement and experience priorities, supported by clear guidance, governance artifacts, and standards
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, offering insight on culture, behaviours, engagement risks, and the people impacts of change and transformation
  • Bringing external perspective and evidence-based practices, leveraging emerging trends and research to continuously advance culture maturity and employee experience
  • Owning the enterprise engagement and listening strategy, including survey methodology, cadence, segmentation, analysis standards, and insight generation
  • Leading executive-level synthesis and storytelling of engagement and experience insights, connecting data to business priorities, risk, and organizational outcomes
  • Enabling and reinforcing action planning discipline across leaders and HR partners, tracking progress, impact, and leading indicators through dashboards and metrics
  • Defining and governing enterprise employee experience and recognition standards, including key moments that matter and values-based recognition that reinforces belonging
  • Leading complex, cross-functional culture change initiatives, applying disciplined change management, influencing leaders, and building internal communities to sustain adoption
  • Partnering across People & Culture to integrate culture levers into leadership, performance, and talent systems, while mentoring peers, developing scalable tools, and contributing expert input to vendor decisions

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in culture, employee experience, engagement and/or organizational learning and development with demonstrated enterprise influence
  • Proven experience designing engagement strategies, interpreting data and influencing senior leaders through insight and facilitation
  • Strong consulting, facilitation, and storytelling skills with credibility at the senior leader level
  • Experience leading enterprise initiatives through influence rather than formal authority
  • Demonstrated ability to embed DEIR and reconciliation principles into culture and employee experience practices

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Experience in a regulated or complex environment

You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:

  • Enterprise-minded – bringing deep expertise in culture, systems thinking, innovation, and organizational dynamics.
  • Credible and influential – operating as a trusted senior advisor who leads through evidence, insight, and strong partnerships.
  • Change-disciplined – applying structured change practices with a focus on adoption and sustained enterprise impact.
  • Insight-driven – confident working with sensitive people and culture data to inform decisions and strategy.
  • Values-led and collaborative – pragmatic in approach while consistently modelling Vancity’s values.

We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.

What You’ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $122,400 to $144,000 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
