Summary
Reporting to the Director, this position will manage a diverse team of Technical Production Members. The successful candidate will lead a team motivated TV professionals responsible of staging, make-up artist, scheduling and play an important leadership role in the content creation of Bell Media. for all operations support on any element including but not limited to: production studios, production control rooms and all facets of daily production requirements. This candidate will lead innovation with "outside the box" thinking in order to quickly adapt to new technical and or operational processes. The Senior Manager, Broadcast Operations will also be responsible for working closely with cross-team stakeholders, including experts in production, finance, marketing, programming, among others, to expand our audience and transform our business.
The candidate will use agile methodology in the implementation of the development and release process and embody our Network 3.0 values that encourage collaboration, making problems visible, and supporting, and serving our employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team that manages Toronto Operations, Scheduling and TV production.
- Contribute, influence, and motivate, lead change and assist in the network transformation that will enable creative TV content.
- Maintain / create an inspiring team environment with a culture of autonomy and open communication with peers, employees, partners, and suppliers.
- Demonstrate skills in carrying out projects using Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Manage operational budgets and plan future capital projects.
- Monitor team performance and report on metrics.
- Manage difficult situations, oversee escalation and problem solving.
- Provide coaching, development, succession, recruitment, resource management, team leadership, contribution to performance and development plans.
Critical Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant Broadcast leadership experience in a large environment.
- People orientated and experience managing large teams and day-to-day issues.
- Highly organized, ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead unionized technicians and non-unionized people.
- Ability to meet deadlines for daily and long-term projects.
