Your Opportunity

Our Edmonton office is seeking a Senior Manager to join the Assurance team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who is passionate about client service, team leadership, and driving business growth across a diverse portfolio of private and not-for-profit clients in Alberta. As a Senior Manager, you will play a key role in leading engagements, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the continued growth of our practice.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of assurance engagements under ASPE and/or ASNPO, ensuring compliance with professional standards and Firm policies
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact
  • Identify and resolve complex accounting and audit matters (e.g., revenue recognition, business combinations, consolidations, estimates, and going concern considerations)
  • Collaborate across service lines to deliver integrated, value-added solutions to clients
  • Apply industry and business insight to anticipate client needs and provide practical, strategic recommendations
  • Own and grow a portfolio of client relationships, actively developing and executing on a pipeline of new business opportunities, supporting proposals, and expanding relationships with existing clients
  • Oversee multiple engagements and ensure quality, efficiency, and profitability across your portfolio
  • Coach and mentor Managers, Seniors, and staff through ongoing feedback, performance management, and career development

Your Experience and Education

  • CPA designation (or equivalent) required
  • 7+ years of public accounting experience, with significant exposure to assurance engagements
  • 3+ years of experience in a management or leadership role
  • Strong technical knowledge of ASPE and/or ASNPO
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and a portfolio of clients
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
