What is the Opportunity?
As the Senior Data Scientist, you will lead data analysis and machine learning initiatives, work closely with cross functional teams to solve complex business problems and drive data-driven decision making for RBC Insurance.
What will you do?
- Be innovative, a problem solver, and a fast learner capable of thinking outside the box to research, prototype and deploy ML/AI solutions to business problems with focus on scalable services and tangible outcomes.
- Develop, test, and validate ML models to address business needs and conduct exploratory data analysis to understand data and extract key insights.
- Collaborate with enterprise technology teams to develop and reuse ML/AI solutions and adopt enterprise cloud technologies.
- Review/write code in either Python, Java or shell scripting to support business needs and requirements.
- Work closely with product managers and business stakeholders to understand business problems, define analytical requirements, and translate them into data science problems.
- Work with data engineers, ML engineers, and software developers for the end-to-end development and delivery of the solutions in production.
- Produce data-driven insights and visualizations to help with informed decisions and actions by telling a convincing story and effectively communicate findings to business partners and executives.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other junior data scientists in the team.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience building AI solutions and pipelines in production.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or relevant fields.
- Strong expertise in different deep neural network architectures machine learning frameworks (Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Keras), Large Language Models, GenAI technologies, and RAG solutions.
- Advanced Python coding skills and hands on experience in developing end-to-end ML pipelines for solving business problems.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, technical documentation, and presentation skills.
- Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams, explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and providing technical leadership and mentorship within a team.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with leveraging MLOps, cloud computing, and data science platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Snowflake.
- Experience writing code in more than one programming language commonly used for backend development as well as developing and consuming Webs Services/Rest APIs in a secure fashion.
- DevOps experience with continuous integration/delivery best-practices, technologies, and tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence
- Experience with containerization tools and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)
- Experience in developing semantic search engines, AI chatbots and agents and working with conversational AI platforms.
- Experience with big data technologies - parallel processing techniques and Apache Spark, NoSQL/SQL databases
