Adecco is currently hiring a Rail Track Maintainer for a full-time opportunity. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy physically demanding outdoor work, value safety, and are comfortable working in changing weather conditions as part of a team responsible for critical rail infrastructure maintenance.

In this position, you will support the inspection, repair, and maintenance of railway tracks and related infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient rail operations.

  • Location: Edson, AB

  • Schedule: Shift work with occasional overtime (travel and overnight stays may be required)

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and replace rails, ties, switches, and ballast materials

  • Perform maintenance on track structure to ensure safety and operational standards are met

  • Remove and replace defective ties, spikes, rails, and anchors

  • Correct track surface, alignment, and gauge deviations

  • Install and repair railway crossings and assist with power-operated switches and insulated joints

  • Unload and distribute ballast and other track materials

  • Sort and organize used track materials for reuse or disposal

  • Clear railway right-of-way of brush, vegetation, snow, and debris

  • Maintain hand tools and equipment used in daily operations

  • Follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with CN safety standards

  • Support safe working conditions at all times on active rail sites

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid driver’s licence

  • Minimum age of 18 years

  • Relevant experience in physically demanding outdoor or safety-sensitive environments

  • Ability to operate heavy equipment or machinery (asset)

  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks in all weather conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing conditions

  • Sound judgment, reliability, and attention to safety

  • Must meet all medical and fitness-for-duty requirements

Assets

  • Welding experience

  • Knowledge of railway operating rules or signaling systems
