This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The amount of time required to work at a TCHC work location is flexible, while considering operational and service delivery requirements.

As a Program Coordinator you will oversee the delivery of capital engagement programs (repairs and revitalization work) in TCHC communities across the city. You will oversee a team of local Senior Program Leaders and work with residents, building staff, and community partners to promote the program to achieve sustainable behavior change and monitor results. It involves supporting the development of educational and outreach materials, facilitating workshops and building partnerships to ensure effective delivery of the program.
What you’ll do
- Works with Managers and Senior Supervisors, Vendors and Community Partners to develop and implement capital improvement engagement projects including delivery of reports on activities, surveys and other components of community engagement by Senior Program Leaders
- Supervise program staff (eg Senior Program Leaders) and volunteers including work direction and performance management
- Responsible for surveying and information collection in various communities; oversees the surveying process and provides direction to staff on the collection and compilation of data
- Organizes and facilitates tenant meetings, information sessions and workshops; oversees meeting logistics including promotion, room set up, food and supplies and minute-taking. Supports the development and distribution if educational resources
- Prepares pre-approval orders and invoices related to program activities for their Manager, or designate. Completes administrative forms and reports
- Plan and organize community events
- Other related duties as required
What you’ll need
- A related post-secondary degree/diploma or working towards completion of degree/diploma, or other related discipline or equivalent experience
- Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle to fulfill the travel requirements of this role
- Familiarity with background in construction, project management, and or building systems/sciences is an asset
- Knowledge of Toronto Community Housing communities and/or experience working in a culturally diverse environment
- Experience developing and implementing community education and engagement programs and events
- Ability to build partnerships with diverse community organizations and stakeholders
- Experience organizing and facilitating workshops and training programs
- Proven ability to conduct effective, innovative outreach that meets the needs of individual communities
- Experience supervising and managing staff and volunteers
- Strong organizational and administrative skills (including keeping and reconciling inventory, logistics)
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service, innovation and creativity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Effective problem solving and analytical skills
- Proficient in use of Word, Excel and Power Point
- Ability to work a flexible work week inclusive of weekends and evenings
