About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Production Supervisor – Night Shift to join our dynamic Production team in Brampton, Ontario.
The Production team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by processing whole blood collections into the final products.
In this role, which reports to the Production Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for management, execution, and evaluation of Production activities, ensuring effective and efficient people and process management, in an environment which fully recognizes the benefits of operating in accordance with quality principles.
Formula for success
- Leveraging your ability to recognize areas for continuing improvement, you will participate in business cases for new initiatives in the Capital Planning process.
- Utilizing your superb interpersonal skills, you will supervise the Production staff to ensure effective and efficient use of resources in a positive working environment in which staff feel empowered, challenged and engaged.
- Drawing on your knowledge and experience of performance management, you will oversee the team and daily operations of aspects of the Production process, ensuring that processes are performed effectively, efficiently and safely.
- With your excellent budgeting experience, you will work closely with the Production Manager to provide input on annual budget for approval in accordance with relevant guidelines.
- Your knowledge of supply chain will be used to enable to enable the organization to deliver on the requirements of the Production Plan.
- You will ensure ongoing monitoring and reporting of all occupational health and safety issues in the workplace.
Desired education and skills
- Post-secondary education in a scientific, engineering, or business discipline; 5+ years of manufacturing experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role.
- Strong background in a regulatory environment, experience leading unionized teams, and managing within Collective Agreements.
- Expertise in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Quality Assurance, LEAN principles, and performing Root Cause Analysis and CAPA.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
- Strong organizational, analytical skills, and computer literacy, including proficiency in spreadsheets; ability to work independently and within a team.

What you can expect
- This role will work onsite at our 100 Parkshore Drive facility in Brampton.
- You will work Tuesday to Saturday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
- Night shift hours are 10:00PM to 6:00AM.
- Shift days and timing may change based on operational needs.
