Adecco is currently hiring a Proctor for a short-term contract position in Ottawa, ON. This opportunity is ideal for a bilingual detail-oriented and responsible individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills who can maintain a professional and controlled exam environment.

As a Proctor, you will be responsible for overseeing exam sessions, ensuring compliance with examination rules, and providing a secure and organized testing environment. You will play a key role in supporting candidates and ensuring the integrity of the examination process.

  • Pay Rate: $20.00/hour

  • Location: Ottawa, ON (West-end)

  • Schedule: Variable (April 10, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM; April 13–15, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM)

  • Contract: Temporary

  • Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the exam center is fully equipped with all necessary materials prior to each exam session

  • Arrange and set up the exam room to properly accommodate candidates

  • Launch and manage the Locked Down Browser (training provided)

  • Verify candidates are attending the correct examination session

  • Check government-issued photo identification of all candidates

  • Work collaboratively with other proctors to maintain a safe, quiet, and professional testing environment

  • Supervise candidates throughout the examination period

  • Monitor and patrol the exam room and facilities to prevent and detect any breaches of exam rules

  • Follow established procedures in the event of any rule violations

  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues related to computers or internet connectivity with support

  • Submit detailed reports at the end of each exam session

  • Log out of systems and properly secure all equipment after each session

  • Restore the exam room to its original setup after each exam

  • Secure, pack, and store all equipment safely at the end of each day

  • Report and handle any items left behind in the exam room appropriately

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in English and French a strong asset

  • Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying equipment and furniture (up to 20 lbs)

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)

  • Previous experience in proctoring, customer service, or a similar role is an asset

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with candidates

  • Assertive and able to enforce rules and procedures consistently

  • Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods

  • Must be reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented

  • Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada.
