The Health Data Science laboratory at the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology is conducting research in big data analytics, psychiatric epidemiology and mental health services. Specifically, we use large health administrative data and national population health data to develop risk prediction models to inform early identification of mental health problems, mental health services delivery and population health planning. We also conduct primary studies such as randomized controlled trials to evaluate the effectiveness of the developed risk prediction models and associated benefits and potential harms.
