The Health Data Science laboratory at the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology is conducting research in big data analytics, psychiatric epidemiology and mental health services. Specifically, we use large health administrative data and national population health data to develop risk prediction models to inform early identification of mental health problems, mental health services delivery and population health planning. We also conduct primary studies such as randomized controlled trials to evaluate the effectiveness of the developed risk prediction models and associated benefits and potential harms.

The Health Data Science laboratory at the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology is seeking highly motivated candidates for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF). The purpose of this PDF is to provide a platform to develop a track record of research funding and publication and to develop a career path of independent research in one of the fields mentioned above.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Perform quantitative data analysis, using both statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Prepare operating grant, fellowship and ethics review applications, including developing research protocol.
  • Support ongoing research activities in participant recruitment, interviews, literature review, knowledge synthesis, organizing meetings and communication with participants, stakeholders and team members.
