Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Payroll Specialist for our client in Waterloo, ON. We are seeking an experienced payroll professional with a strong background in multi-jurisdictional Canadian payroll processing who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and employee service.

This is an excellent opportunity to support a large workforce while working in a hybrid environment alongside a collaborative and professional team.

  • Pay Rate: $30.00/hour

  • Location: Waterloo, ON

  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-provincial workforce of 2,000+ employees

  • Lead the import, validation, balancing, and transmission of bi-weekly payroll

  • Perform gross-to-net calculations, payroll audits, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Analyze payroll and general ledger data and investigate variances

  • Calculate overtime, statutory holiday pay, and other earnings in accordance with provincial employment standards

  • Prepare and submit statutory remittances and government filings

  • Produce Records of Employment (ROEs) and support payroll compliance audits

  • Assist with year-end processes, including T4 preparation, reconciliations, and reporting

  • Process employee lifecycle transactions, including hires, terminations, leaves, status changes, and compensation updates

  • Respond to payroll inquiries and escalations in a professional and timely manner

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to payroll processes and controls

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in a multi-jurisdictional Canadian payroll environment

  • Proven experience processing payroll for 1,000+ employees

  • Canadian Payroll Association designation (PCP or CPM) required

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, remittances, and compliance requirements

  • Experience with payroll reconciliations, audits, and year-end processing

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines

  • Must be located in the Kitchener-Waterloo/Cambridge area and available to work in a hybrid arrangement from the Waterloo office

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
