Adecco is currently hiring a Payroll Specialist for a full-time, temp contract position in Kanata, ON. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all provincial and federal regulations. You will work closely with HR and Finance teams, maintaining employee data, reconciling discrepancies, and supporting payroll reporting and year-end activities.
Pay Rate: $26–$36/hr depending on experience

Responsibilities:
Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees in compliance with legislative requirements.
Manage and maintain employee timecards within Kronos, ensuring accuracy in attendance, scheduling, overtime, and shift premiums.
Utilize Workday for payroll updates, employee data maintenance, and reporting.
Verify payroll entries, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure accurate deductions including benefits, taxes, and RRSP contributions.
Conduct payroll audits weekly or bi-weekly to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Prepare payroll reports and provide analytics to HR and Finance stakeholders as needed.
Address employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally.
Support year-end activities including T4s, ROEs, and government filings.
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to streamline payroll processes.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced environment.
Hands-on experience with Kronos / UKG Workforce Central or Dimensions.
Experience using Workday for payroll or HRIS functions.
Proficiency in MS Excel including VLOOKUPs, formulas, and data validation.
Solid understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and employment standards.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll data.
Strong customer service orientation when supporting employees and managers.
