Posting Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Scientific Project Manager to help manage a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional project focused on developing new and more effective treatments for brain cancer. This is a part time FTE position, roughly 8 hours per week. 

Our research group studies brain cancer at its root, focusing on the subpopulations of tumour cells with stem cell potential, which are critical for driving disease growth and resistance to therapy. The position involves the scientific management of a specific project within our larger research group focusing on IDH mutant gliomas.

Here's What You'll Get To Do:

• Aid in planning workflow/study design as well as material and data flow between groups within a multi institutional consortium
• Liaise with a variety of groups to gather, analyze and report research findings internally and to funders
• Collect and disseminate data within the consortium and aid in manuscript preparation as needed
• Help identify any possible commercialization opportunities resulting from scientific research across the project
• Attend larger group meetings and help disseminate information and research findings to consortium members
• Attend any related (internal or external) scientific meetings

Here's What You'll Need:

• A PhD in cell and systems biology with a focus on brain tumours/functional genomics
• 8+ years relevant experience plus additional postdoctoral experience preferred
• Experience with commercialization initiatives and management of industry collaborations
• Experience in the management and oversight of multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional academic collaborations
• Demonstrated ability to disseminate results to a variety of stakeholders
• Exceptional project management skills including preparation of scientific reporting, communication materials, and data presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multi-disciplinary group
• Proven strong publication record 
• Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.
