This Part-Time Academic will be responsible for directing the Popular Music Ensemble from September 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027 (Fall & Winter Terms). Rehearsals are held every second week for 1.5 hours, resulting in one main concert in the Winter term and two noon-hour performances (one per term).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: organization of participants; scheduling, planning, and preparation of rehearsals and concerts; overseeing the distribution of scores, and providing a Method of Assessment. The director must coordinate with the Associate Director of Productions, Voice Area, and the productions administrator regarding the selection of concert repertoire within the context of developing the School’s multi-year plan, including commissions of new works and organization of special collaborative endeavours.

This is an hourly-paid position reporting to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.

All offers of employment as a Part-Time Academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the course and approval by the University.
