Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunity? We are currently seeking an Operations Coordinator to join our Streetcar Overhead Operations team!
The Operations Coordinator plays a key role in driving multidisciplinary projects, supporting new initiatives, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations. In this role, you’ll collaborate frequently with internal teams and public stakeholders, helping to align efforts and move departmental priorities forward. You will use strong project management skills and exceptional organizational abilities to support departmental goals, while also leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of operational processes and procedures. Additionally, in this role you will supervise direct reports, ensuring effective planning, coordination and delegation of section activities.
What You Will Do
As the Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing project plans that support continuous improvement and operational continuity across the Department. You will develop and maintain quality assurance programs, including weekly audits and reporting to senior management, as well as Key Performance Indicators for the Department and Group. In this position, you will also assist with maintaining departmental work plans and managing updates and new developments to ensure consistency across Operations. This role also includes working with the Training Department to oversee apprenticeship and external training programs, ensuring certification compliance, and coordination of employee training and testing schedules.
You will work with various internal stakeholders to support projects and develop, implement and evaluate continuous improvement programs, including large cross‑departmental initiatives. As the project lead representative for the Operations and Infrastructure Group, you will ensure project outcomes align with departmental objectives and schedules. You will also manage material contracts, coordinate with vendors, and support procurement activities, including the acquisition of tools and materials required for operational needs.
You will assist in developing training protocols for new or updated technologies and systems, and support corporate and departmental safety programs by reviewing incidents, identifying hazards, conducting interviews and ensuring consistency across departments. You will liaise with Safety & Environment to promote safe operating practices and develop emergency preparedness and continuity of operations plans. In addition, you will support investigations by preparing documentation and corrective action reports, and coordinate equipment testing schedules, fleet vehicle maintenance and certification requirements.
Lastly, you will manage aspects of the Audit Program, prepare reports and monthly audit dashboards, and communicate audit results to Group management. This position further includes coordinating arborist contracts and compliance activities, reconciling reports, and ensuring adherence to City of Toronto pruning and safety standards.

What Qualifications Do You Bring
- A post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (Engineering, Science, Business Administration), or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- Knowledge of business administration, HR concepts, and relevant policies, procedures and rules.
- Extensive knowledge of transit operations and experience managing complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.
- Strong research skills and experience developing project plans, proposals and action plans.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, leadership, decision‑making, technical, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to independently lead projects and communicate plans and results to stakeholders.
- Excellent administrative, investigative, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Superior verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation and report‑writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and make timely, evidence‑based business decisions.
- Ability to coordinate complex, multi‑faceted tasks in a challenging environment.
- Knowledge of emergency preparedness and continuity‑of‑operations planning.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence for travel to TTC sites not accessible by transit.
- Ability to acquire thorough knowledge of TTC operations, organizational structure, policies and procedures, including operating rules.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of TTC human‑resources policies and procedures.
- Willingness to complete in‑house safety or technical training as required.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
- Experience with P3 agreements is an asset.
