Adecco is currently recruiting for a Operations Agent for a 6-month contract with possibility of extension, based on-site in Ottawa. This role supports critical banknote handling operations and requires a high level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.

Working under the direction of the Currency Team Lead, you will contribute to secure currency processing activities while supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement. This position is well-suited for individuals with experience handling cash, working in secure environments, or performing shipping/receiving tasks who are comfortable with physical work and structured procedures.

  • Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary (6 months with extension possibility)

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

  • Location: Ottawa, ON (On-site)

  • Pay Rate: $19–$22/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Provide dual custody and control of banknotes under the direction of the Currency Team Lead

  • Prepare, ship, and receive banknotes in accordance with established procedures

  • Process and reconcile banknotes using high-speed processing equipment

  • Participate in the destruction of banknotes following strict protocols

  • Examine parcels and resolve various operational issues

  • Maintain the security and integrity of the team’s and organization’s assets

  • Enter and maintain accurate data in various operating systems

  • Contribute positively to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Perform other related activities and deliverables as required

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally able to work and reside within Canada

  • Must be willing to successfully complete a Reliability Clearance process

  • High school diploma with strong mathematics skills

  • Relevant experience in cash handling, banking, retail, or shipping/receiving

  • Proven ability to learn and strictly follow custody and control procedures

  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

  • Strong oral communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing daily workflows

  • Flexibility to rotate tasks, work varying schedules, and work overtime when required

  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including bending and lifting parcels weighing approximately 5–24 kg

Additional Qualifications (Assets):

  • Knowledge of ISO standards

  • Experience processing and handling banknotes

  • Familiarity with high-speed banknote processing systems
