The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Co-op Student to join our Operating Model Team in Toronto.
This is a 9 to 12-month-fixed term co-op position starting in June, 2026. This posting is for an existing position vacancy.
As a Co-op student within the Operating Model function, you will be interacting with cross-functional teams across Operations mining and processing plants and Corporate areas to support the implementation and knowledge share of Vale Base Metals Operating Model. By integrating organizational structure, processes, technology, people and culture you will challenge your creative and analytical thinking to support safe and reliable operations while improving business performance.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to map and optimize end-to-end business processes across global operations.
- Ensure documents meet compliance standards and are properly version-controlled and accessible.
- Collect and analyze data from various departments to support integrated performance reviews.
- Help to manage projects including timelines, action tracking, and follow-up.
- Help in technology systems set up and governance definition to support delivery of the processes under the Operating Model team accountability.

About You
Education:
- Currently enrolled in BS/MS programs, preferably in a science-related discipline, engineering, business, economics or related areas
Skills:
- Interests and/or experiences in the following in data analytics and data visualization, continuous Improvement methods and Project Management
- Proficient with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint and familiarity with Power BI and programming language.
- Curiosity to learn, hands-on approach to execution and strong communication skills
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute to group problem-solving.
