Adecco is currently hiring a Mobile Heavy Equipment Technician for a full-time opportunity based in Edmonton, AB. This role is ideal for a skilled diesel mechanic with strong diagnostic abilities and experience working on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and mobile equipment in a fast-paced field service environment.

As a Mobile Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics on a wide range of fleet and construction equipment. You will work both independently and as part of a service team to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and minimal downtime.

  • Pay Rate: $51.90/hour

  • Location: Edmonton, AB

  • Schedule: Full-time (4-day work week, on-call rotation, overtime available)

  • Contract: Temp or Temp-to-Perm potential

  • Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, dozers, skid steers, and delivery vehicles

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and emissions-related issues using diagnostic software, manuals, and schematics

  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel systems with a high standard of quality and consistency

  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and equipment status documentation

  • Source and order parts as required for repairs and maintenance

  • Communicate effectively with service teams and customers regarding repair needs and downtime

  • Operate independently from a service truck when required

  • Continuously improve repair processes, turnaround times, and service quality

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment following all safety protocols

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on diesel engines and heavy equipment

  • Strong proficiency in electrical and emissions diagnostics

  • Experience using diagnostic software and technical service manuals

  • Ability to work independently and manage a mobile service truck effectively

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical repair solutions

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

  • Must own basic tools required for the job

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (required)

  • Class 3 licence with air brakes considered an asset

  • Clean driving record required

  • Ability to work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation

  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions and outdoor environments

  • Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada
