Your Opportunity

The Mechanical Engineering student will work closely with our Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Designers, Project Managers, Architects, and professionals of other disciplines. Additionally, the successful candidate must be quality oriented, hardworking, and have a strong commitment to client service.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical engineering work (design & drafting/modeling) related to Building Design & Construction for HVAC, plumbing and drainage and fire protection
  • Assist with feasibility/preliminary engineering studies to formulate, determine and evaluate design criteria for engineering work and to develop options for attaining the functionality required by the client
  • Assist in the completion of engineering calculations using heat loss/gain software and Excel
  • Assist with reviewing shop drawings and design details by analyzing for continuity and viability

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong interest and knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and drainage and fire protection
  • Experience with AutoCAD, REVIT and Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional attention to detail specifically with accuracy in calculations and completeness of data
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and strong commitment to working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment

Education and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program with a focus on building services at the University or College level

Pay Range:

• $23.37 - $32.07 Hourly

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
