We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Manager, Analytics & Insights to join our growing Data & Analytics team within Scotia Securities Inc. In this role, you will bridge data engineering and analytics, ensuring our data infrastructure enables fast, reliable, and scalable analytics products. You will partner closely with Business Intelligence leaders and business stakeholders to design data pipelines, build robust data models, and support data-driven decision-making.

 

This is a term position.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will focus on:

  • Data Pipeline Development: Partner with data engineering teams to design, build, and maintain analytical data pipelines and infrastructure. Integrate multiple data sources and deliver simplified, high-quality data models to support Finance, Operations, and Executive reporting
  • Data Modeling: Gather and translate technical requirements into well structured, reliable data models in collaboration with Business Intelligence Managers to support high quality analytics and reporting
  • Automation & Performance: Automate repetitive processes and ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of data pipelines, Power BI dashboards, and reports.
  • Documentation, Support & Training: Create, maintain, and update clear documentation for data pipelines, data models, and analytical workflows to support knowledge sharing, onboarding, and operational continuity
  • Business Intelligence & Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards focused on key performance indicators for SSI distribution channels, including mutual fund sales, assets under administration, Tier 1 supervision, and compliance reporting
  • Ensure adherence to operational, regulatory, and compliance risk frameworks, including AML/ATF guidelines and the Bank’s risk appetite principles
  • Promote an inclusive work environment aligned with the Bank’s values and conduct standards

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or analytics/data engineering
  • Azure & Databricks expertise: Strong experience with the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem, including Azure Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark SQL, workspace administration), Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, and Azure Data Factory
  • Advanced SQL & Python: Expert-level SQL (window functions, CTEs, performance tuning) and strong Python skills for data transformation and automation (Pandas, PySpark)
  • Experience managing and operating data infrastructure on cloud platforms (Azure and/or GCP)
  • Proficiency with Git-based version control (Azure DevOps or GitHub), including peer code reviews
  • Knowledge of Canadian Retail Banking and Wealth Management distribution channels
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders
