The team:
Scotiabank’s Global Network Operations (GNO) team is responsible for operating the Scotiabank’s network globally on a 24x7x365 basis. The GNO team monitors the global network, troubleshoots, and implements required network changes. We provide Levels 1 & 2 support and work closely with the engineering teams in Global Network Engineering (GNE) to troubleshoot and fix complex network issues, ensuring business strategies, plans and all operations initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies/procedures and enterprise service level agreements.
The role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Network and ABM Operations, you will play a critical part in documenting, planning and implementing security remediations, services monitoring, triaging, actioning, and troubleshooting of network alerts/events globally, as well as planning and executing network changes to prevent or resolve network related incidents.
When required, you may be a part of after-hours change implementation or troubleshooting major incidents in the evenings or weekends.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
- You possess strong communication (verbal/written) skills. In addition, you have good interpersonal skills to build relationships with both internal/external business partners and vendors.
- You have at least 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience in supporting and operating with most of the following network technologies at an enterprise scale:
- Cisco Routers, Switches, Wi-Fi & Network Authentication.
- Cisco Firewalls/Virtual Private Network (VPN)
- Fortinet Firewalls
- F5 Local Traffic Manager (LTM)/Global Traffic Manager (GTM)
- Infoblox Domain Name Server (DNS)/Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and IP Address Management (IPAM)
- Aruba SD/WAN
- Zscaler
- Monitoring Systems
- You have at least 3+ years of hands-on technical working experience with the use of any of the following network monitoring tools (i.e.: IBM’s SevOne Network Performance Management (NPM), Broadcom’s AppNeta, Cisco’s ThousandEyes, NetScout’s nGenius, Cisco Prime, NetBrain’s Network Problem Diagnosis Automation System (PDAS).
- You have at least 2+ years of hands-on working experience with IT Service Management (Event Management, Incident Management, Knowledge, Configuration Management Database (CMDB)/Asset Management, Change Management).
- You possess superior problem-solving and decision-making skills to resolve work issues in a dynamic environment.
- You can manage multiple tasks concurrently & the ability to work well under pressure is a part of who you are.
- You possess a strong customer orientation & a keen ability to learn rapidly.
- You have completed a post-secondary education in a technology related field, plus have a CCNP (R&S).
