A career as a Governance Legal Advisor within the Legal Affairs team at National Bank means acting as a specialist in corporate governance and corporate law. In this role, you will have a positive impact on our organization through your governance expertise, strong legal acumen, and ability to structure complex projects.

Your role
  • Ensure governance and corporate secretariat support for subsidiaries, including maintaining minute books and coordinating board and committee meetings
  • Define and implement governance frameworks tailored to the organizational structures of subsidiaries
  • Oversee the entity management system and structure transactional or internal reorganization projects
  • Coordinate legal matters related to subsidiaries, investments, and international activities
  • Provide strategic legal advice to support business decisions and operations
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in governance and recommend required adjustments

Your team
Within the Legal Affairs sector, you are part of a large team and report to the Senior Director, Subsidiary Governance. Our team stands out for its deep expertise, collaborative mindset, and commitment to governance excellence. We work closely with various internal partners and contribute to structuring high-impact initiatives across the organization.

Prerequisites
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law and between 3 and 5 years of relevant experience in corporate law and governance
  • Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar, Ontario Bar, New York State Bar, or the Chambre des notaires du Québec
  • Experience in subsidiary governance and corporate secretariat management
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to corporate law and corporate governance
  • Experience drafting and reviewing corporate and legal documentation
