Within the Finance group, the financial systems team works closely with the corporate accounting, finance, tax, treasury, and technology teams. The team must ensure the proper functioning of the various systems and databases under its responsibility so that financial and regulatory information is produced within the required deadlines and with a high level of quality. The team is a key partner in various important projects for the Bank, including the launch of the financial systems modernization.
The position holder will be responsible for supporting financial applications supporting financial, regulatory and treasury management processes.
Responsibilities
- Periodically performs activities related to the production of financial and regulatory information, such as database maintenance, query execution, and report submission.
- Ensures the integrity of source data, the quality of information disseminated, and its confidentiality. Performs follow-ups and data corrections as required, with IT services or external suppliers as needed.
- Updates queries (SQL), applications and processes under his/her responsibility to meet user needs.
- Contributes to the impact analysis of projects and regulatory changes on the systems and processes under his/her responsibility, performs the required changes and acceptance tests.
- Contributes to the improvement of tools and processes used for sector reporting.
- Identifies the first-level needs of internal clients, analyzes and interprets various data, and proposes appropriate solutions to users.
- Provides first-level support regarding the use and operation of financial applications under his/her responsibility.
- Works closely with the Finance group teams and contributes to the development of business needs for internal and external IT teams.
- Develops in-depth knowledge of Finance data warehouse data, as well as Finance Group business tools and processes.
- Perform administration and maintenance activities, as needed with IT services or external suppliers.
- Perform any other tasks of a similar nature or of a general order requested by their superior or required in the course of their duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Administration, Finance, Accounting)
- Three years of relevant experience
- Good understanding of banking products and activities
- Knowledge of relational and multidimensional databases an asset
- Ability to read and write simple to moderately complex SQL queries an asset
- Resourcefulness, curiosity, excellent analytical skills, initiative and autonomy
- Bilingualism* (French, English)
*Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
