Adecco is currently hiring a full-time detail-oriented Customs & EDI Coordinator to support the accurate and timely processing of customs and electronic business transactions. This role plays a critical part in protecting train movement, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining customer service standards and company revenue.
In this role you will monitor shipments, support EDI transmissions, and resolve transaction issues while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. This position contributes directly to safe, efficient, and compliant rail operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process customs-related transactions accurately and within required timelines

  • Monitor shipments to ensure clearance prior to arrival at border or destination

  • Transmit, review, and correct customs and EDI transactions using internal systems

  • Interpret and apply customs regulations, tariffs, and shipment procedures

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to resolve transaction issues

  • Prepare and maintain daily and weekly operational and customs reports

  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of sensitive shipment and operational data

  • Support continuous improvement and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in customs operations, EDI transactions, customer service, waybilling, or similar operational environment*

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong computer skills, including Outlook and operational systems*

  • Ability to type accurately and use standard office tools

  • Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. customs regulations*

  • Understanding of EDI transactions, shipment movement, and reporting processes*

  • Familiarity with tariffs, contracts, dimensional loads, diversion procedures, and holds/overloads*

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Level 2 certification (TO4202)*

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Post-secondary education in business, logistics, transportation, or related field

  • Previous experience in rail, logistics, or transportation operations

  • Experience working with customs clearance systems and regulatory compliance processes

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
