Dalhousie University is Atlantic Canada’s leading research-intensive university and a driver of the region’s intellectual, social and economic development. Located in the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia, with an Agricultural Campus in Truro/Bible Hill, Dalhousie is a truly national and international university, with more than half of our 18,800 students coming from outside of the province. Our 6,000 faculty and staff foster a vibrant, purpose-driven community, that celebrated 200 years of academic excellence in 2018.

Dalhousie’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) has 11 departments, the Fountain School of Performing Arts, six interdisciplinary programs, and six research centres. The Faculty spans research across the social sciences, humanities, languages, and performing arts. Several common principles ground the research conducted by scholars in FASS, including: a commitment to addressing issues with local, national and global impact; critical policy analysis; a focus on ethics and social justice; and building contextual and cultural understanding.

Dalhousie University is currently seeking applications for the prestigious Donald Hill Family postdoctoral fellowship position within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
