The Health Clinic by Shoppers is dedicated to bringing convenient access to high quality patient-centered primary care services to people in Canada.
Reporting to the Senior Medical Director, Clinical Services, the Director, Pharmacy Professional Services is responsible for providing leadership and strategic insight to grow the health clinic networks and care programs across Canada. This role will lead and oversee Physician recruitment & engagement initiatives, including physician performance measurement, physician management as well as Medical Affairs. In conjunction with the Senior Medical Director, this role will be responsible for strategic healthcare planning and leading healthcare related partnership development and initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
Lead physician recruitment strategic initiatives across the Health Clinic networks.
Manage recruitment discussions and negotiations with physicians and healthcare professionals.
Lead Physician Management, including performance measurement, credentialling & privileges, professional standards and licensure across Canada.
Act as a trusted key point of contact for physicians and facilitate discussions.
Provide leadership and insight to Physician recruitment, management and engagement across Shoppers Drug Mart.
Scope new strategic opportunities to develop health related partnerships and collaborations with key stakeholders the healthcare industries, including universities, allied health professionals. Government, healthcare organizations and institutional representatives.
Identify strategic and operational opportunities in the healthcare space and support build out and implementation of clinical services that support the growth of the Health Clinics.
Lead cross functional healthcare initiatives across Shoppers Drug Mart that support and accelerate the Connected Health Network Strategy.
Manage strategic clinical and healthcare initiatives from early ideation through strategy completion and execution.
Create strategies to increase brand awareness and recognition of the Health Clinic Network
Work closely with cross-functional and senior leadership across the enterprise to identify, structure and guide collaborations for healthcare initiatives and new business opportunities.
Lead and manage marketing strategies for the health clinic networks
What You’ll Need:
Undergraduate or post-secondary education in business administration, human resources or related field, clinical training an asset.
Min 5 years work experience in Medical Affairs, physician recruitment, credentialling and physician licensing in an academic or healthcare setting in Canada.
Strong background in strategic planning and execution in healthcare
10+ years experience in healthcare operations and clinical program development
Experience building relationships with physicians and healthcare professionals
Must have an extensive network of clinicians
Ability to work autonomously and within a corporate team environment
Entrepreneurial attitude and action-oriented mindset a must
Knowledge of the current physician landscape in Canada
Familiarity with Canadian provincial physician reimbursement models and licensing requirements
Experience with HRIS systems, CRM and other recruitment tools and techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
