The Director of Corporate FP&A - Capital will report to the Vice President of Corporate FP&A. This position is responsible for the Enterprise’s >$2B capital investment portfolio and plays a leading role in the end-to-end development of the Capital Plan, partnering with Corporate FP&A, Treasury, Real Estate and Divisional FP&A functions to support the financial planning needs of the Enterprise’s operating and strategic projects.

The incumbent will manage capital allocation, project approvals, periodic reporting and forecasting of spend, the annual capital plan process, and will help ensure that our investment strategies are providing the necessary returns to fund future growth. The position will work closely with Senior Finance and Real Estate executives to risk assess capital projects prior to their request for approval. The role is designed for the individual who is seasoned in their ability to use data analytics to provide thought leadership to influence business investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities /Job Duties:  

  • Lead the Enterprise Capital Investment planning processes, including the allocation and capital funds to divisions/strategic areas and integration of capital spend with the comprehensive Enterprise annual financial plan process.
  • Manage the capital project approval process by working closely with Senior Real Estate and Finance executives to analyze the risk and opportunities of each business case to ensure high confidence in financial returns.
  • Lead the post-performance analysis of our capital projects and provide insight to Sr Management on trends and outlook that will influence future capital strategies.
  • Manage period end accruals required for capital reporting.
  • Oversee the cash forecasting of enterprise capital project spend.
  • Preparation of Senior Management financial presentations and reporting packages.
  • Collaborate with FP&A teams to translate our capital investment projects into scenario-based Revenue and Profit forecasts.
  • Assist in the process enhancement of the capital investment approval and forecasting process.

Qualifications and Competencies 

A Post-Secondary education in Finance or related field is required; experience working in a fast-paced environment, particularly corporate and/or retail will be considered an asset 

The preferred candidate will also have:  

  • Minimum of 6 -8 years' finance or accounting experience, preferably in the Retail or Real Estate industry.  
  • Professional Finance Designations such as CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
  • Advanced Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to bring together and manage interactions with employees from across the organization.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with proven ability to work well with people and deliver objectives on time and within budget.
  • Strong business acumen, with an ability to focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Results Oriented, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving and Negotiations skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP and MicroStrategy will be an asset.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in capital project management.

Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche :

$128,000.00 - $176,000.00 / 128.000,00$ - 176.000,00$ (per year / par an)
