Adecco is currently hiring a full-time proactive and experienced Corporate Security Advisor to oversee all aspects of physical security across our client’s Retail and Wholesale sites based in Edmonton, AB but will require travel. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the safety, security, and operational integrity of locations throughout Eastern Canada. You will serve as the primary contact for Corporate Security matters, support incident response, and enhance security programs that protect our people, property, and brand.

  • Location: Edmonton based, Travel will be required

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 1 year with high possibility of extension or turn into permanent

Responsibilities:

Security Leadership & Program Compliance

  • Ensure consistent application of Corporate Security policies, standards, and procedures across all company sites.

  • Act as the first point of contact for all security‑related matters within the assigned region or portfolio.

Incident Reporting & Response

  • Ensure all security incidents are accurately reported and documented.

  • Oversee effective and timely incident response, escalating concerns where required.

  • Conduct investigations into security incidents or sensitive matters at the direction of Corporate Security leadership.

Operational Support & Collaboration

  • Provide day‑to‑day security support to company retail and wholesale sites in Eastern Canada.

  • Maintain proactive liaison with Business Unit Operations Security Representatives and site management teams.

  • Work directly with operations to determine physical security needs that reduce risk, improve productivity, and lower costs.

Risk Identification & Mitigation

  • Analyze evolving trends, behaviours, and emerging risks that could compromise site security.

  • Prepare reports and recommendations outlining security vulnerabilities and proposed countermeasures.

  • Assess the effectiveness of current security systems and processes, recommending enhancements as required.

Security Systems Oversight

  • Coordinate design, installation, maintenance, and repair of physical security systems (access control, CCTV, alarms, etc.).

  • Provide operational oversight of contracted security guard services and maintain relationships with service provider management.

Emergency Response & Special Events

  • Support Emergency Response Plans and provide assistance to the Emergency Operations Centre when needed.

  • Develop, review, and implement security plans for special events, operational changes, or elevated‑risk scenarios.

  • Maintain positive liaison with jurisdictional law enforcement and other external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Have successfully completed grade 12 although post-secondary studies in criminology, police studies, risk management or safety would be preferred.

  • A Bachelor Degree would be an asset.

  • Security or related certification would be an asset, e.g. Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Risk Manager (CRM)

  • Minimum of 7 years security experience gained in an industrial setting is required 

  • investigative support experience and law enforcement experience is an asset. 

  • Ability to lead and  provide direction to large team of contracted security guards. 

  • Previous Oil and Gas, Fuel Retail station or law enforcement experience would be an asset

  • Able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of security program design, Investigation, risk and threat assessment, security policy development, physical security design and crisis management planning.

  • Working knowledge of access control, alarm systems and CCTV technology.

  • Must have superior computing skills, Advance Ms office. 

  • Project knowledge an asset.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and valid passport

  • Be capable of obtaining a secret level security clearance

  • Highly motivated, well-organized, a proven team player, exhibiting a consistent positive attitude with attention to detail and confidentiality.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, conflict management and problem-solving skills.

  • Bilingual would be an asset (French/ English) 

  • Ability to work independently while handling multiple assignments simultaneously, establish priorit

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
